Mighty Against Brain Tumours is a three-Mini team planning to compete in the BARC Mighty Mini Championship. The team is looking for sponsorship to raise awareness and funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. One Mini will be entered into the ‘Super’ Mighty Mini Category (Class B) and two cars will compete in the ‘Mighty’ Mini Category (class A).

Matt Davies is a novice racer who is looking for sponsorship: “Since my wife, Rachel, was diagnosed with a brain tumour I have wanted to get a car on the grid to raise money for the charity. We hope to raise half of the money needed to buy the car, all the equipment and entry fees for the season, with Rachel and I paying the rest, but if we get the full amount, we will make another donation to the charity. We have had a lot of interest already and things are moving fast, a lot faster than anticipated. I was looking to join the championship in 2018, but everyone in the championship, and family and friends have been so supportive, joining in the 2017 season is a very achievable goal.”

The other racers are Matt’s cousin, Greg Jenkins, previous winner of the Mighty Minis championship. He will be competing in the class B for the 2017 season. The other racer is Ryan Cowley who will compete in class A. He sadly lost his father Graham in 2007 from a brain tumour.
“We do all of the work on our cars ourselves,” explains Matt, “Greg is a mechanic and Ryan is a classic Mini specialist. I am just a Mini fanatic in general. I had to sell my Mini Sidewalk that we fully restored to help Rach and pay our bills and mortgage as she can no longer work and I am her full-time carer so I cannot work either.”
