Japanese garden designer, Ishihara Kazuyuki, created a garden featuring a Mini in the Artisan area of the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show. The garden is entitled Senri-Sentei or Garage-Garden. It was inspired by a visit to the UK 10 years ago where he saw lovingly maintained classic cars.
The garden is a two-tier structure in which the ground floor is used to park a car, store tools and is also for relaxation. The roof-top area above is for plants. The idea is apparently that the car and garden complement each other. The Mini was on loan from Kiss Fabulous Rides. “We are delighted that our stunning Mini was selected to be incorporated into a gold medallist designer’s garden,” remarked Rob Hutcheson from the classic car hire firm.
